In 1964, on the World Exhibition in New York a specially for the young driver developed, attractive designed Coupé presented to the public, the visitors enthusiasts. Already on the first day of sale were the 8,000 available models sold and other 22,000 orders issued. The Coupé and Cabriolet followed in 1965, the first only offered classic 2+2 almost back, a hatchback coupé. All three types were offered with different engine versions, including a 289 cubic inch (4.7 liters) - eight-cylinder engine with up to 275 HP power. The maximum speed of the long flowing out Mustang 2+2 almost backs stood at around 189 km/h, the acceleration of 0 to 100 was made in 9.0 seconds.
